Qwest SIP Termination

Qwest’s IP Voice with 1+ Termination service enables customers to terminate phone calls to more than 250 countries through the benefits of its superior IP technology. Qwest IP Termination services offer economical IP based connectivity of voice traffic switch with various service providers. By connecting to the OC192 Multi-protocol Label Switching (MPLS) network, you acquire more than 1,700 entry points and more than 16,000 paths.

How it operates

Conventionally, termination takes place when Long Distance (LD) service providers change IP voice traffic to a Time Division Multiplex (TDM) and pass traffic toward their respective LD providers. In several occasions, the LD provider transforms traffic back towards IP to pass through its LD network, changes the traffic again to TDM and finally allows call termination.

The IP Voice Termination Service of Qwest enables you to give the IP voice traffic straight to them. Qwest will transmit your IP voice call streams towards the OC192 MPLS network to facilitate call termination to the PSTN. In other words, Qwest provides a complete service, eliminating your need to procure or supervise the gateways required to allow the conversion process. Qwest primarily enables voice traffic to go across its IP transport towards the firewall protected Session Border Controller (SBC). Its media gateways enable termination of IP voice calls to a TDM circuit-switched network. Through the TDM, voice calls can be terminated both internationally or locally to the PSTN.
